Friday 11th – Monday 14th August, 2017
Programme of Events
This year’s event is bigger than ever, with 39 artists and studios participating. There are 10 new participants this year including four from the newly established Art Trail. Details and locations of every participating artist can be found here in the programme.
The ‘Biscuit Tin Initiative’
This year there’s a new way for everyone to participate in the Open Studios events! Scattered around the island in a dozen or so hotels, bars & cafes you will find a tin, into which you can place your own art work, poetry or meditation. See here for more details and a photo of the tin you need to look out for.
Running alongside the Weekend event is an exhibition of work from the pupils of The Arran High School. This will feature art from the the juniors alongside photography from the senior pupils. The exhibition is upstairs at Arran Active, Shore Road, Brodick.
A new event as part of the McLellan Festival, to celebrate Arran Open Studios, is a ‘Storytelling Supper’ on Saturday 12th August at Altachorive (Lamlash) at 7:30pm. This will be an evening of stories, songs and supper, open to all for £15. Booking is essential and tickets can be obtained from www.arranevents.com
